Serving as Master of Ceremonies at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Award

I was honored to present the award ceremony of the Alexandria Library International Award – First Edition 2025, held under the gracious patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Dr. Yousry El-Gamal, former Minister of Education and Chairman of the Jury Committee; the distinguished writer Mohamed Salmawy, member of the Award’s Higher Committee; and Dr. Mahmoud Hashem, member of the Higher Committee, alongside a distinguished gathering of former ministers, ambassadors, diplomats, university presidents, senior officials, and prominent intellectuals.

I extend my sincere appreciation and gratitude to Professor Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Acting Deputy Director of the Library, for their valued trust and continued support.

I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Studio team for their distinguished coverage and for the documentary film produced especially for this occasion, which eloquently embodied the Award’s value and objective with professionalism.

I further extend my heartfelt thanks to colleagues across the Library’s various sectors — Cultural Outreach, the Director’s Office, Security, External Relations and Protocol, Information and Communication Technology, the Engineering Sector, and the Administrative and Financial Affairs Sector — as well as to all those involved in the Award and the members of the Jury Committee, in recognition of their dedicated efforts and pivotal role in the success of this international event.

My sincere appreciation also goes to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Orchestra and Choir, conducted by Maestro Nayer Nagui, for their refined musical performances, which added an elegant artistic dimension befitting the stature and value of the occasion.

I am proud to have been part of this distinguished international event, which embodies the prestigious standing of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as a global beacon of knowledge and a platform for intercultural dialogue, and reaffirms the leading role of the Arab Republic of Egypt in advancing science and innovation in pursuit of a more sustainable and prosperous future.
